Nas Announces BET Mini Series About His Life Story

Nas and BET have announced a new miniseries on the legendary rapper’s journey from New York City’s Queensbridge projects to the Billboard charts. READ: Nas’ Forthcoming Clothing Collection Will Benefit The National Black Child Development Institute Deadline says the project is headed by Rush creator Jonathan Levine — with Nas, Anthony Saleh, Jamie Patricof and Lynette Howell expected as the executive producers. 50 Cent Sues Lawyers For $32 Million Over Sextape Lawsuit

50 Cent is seeking a big payday from his ex-lawyers who handled his lawsuit in the controversial Lastonia Leviston sextape case scandal from 2010. During his feud with Rick Ross, 50 courted the mother of Ross’ child to assist in his “take down” of the Miami rapper. Curtis alleges that “numerous misdeeds by law firm Reed Smith and attorney Peter Raymond were factors in his loss in Leviston’s claim against him.” In 2015, Jackson was ordered to pay Leviston $7 million in damages for posting a sextape in which she was featured during a “diss video” that 50 released online. “Reed Smith and Raymond did not follow established legal standards in representing Jackson in the Leviston Case by failing to provide effective representation and conduct..

Since the passing of Prince, the music icon’s music has waged a war between streaming giants as Tidal slowly lost exclusivity to the singer’s extensive catalog. This week has shown the singer’s music could be heading to Spotify, Amazon and Apple Music. On Monday (Jan. 30), large purple ads with the Spotify logo have popped up in throughout New York’s Time Square and Union Square areas. L. Londell McMillan, entertainment attorney and representative for the late singer, tells Billboard the deal hasn’t been confirmed, but the ads hint that the release of some of the singer’s music could hit the streaming platform by the Grammys (Feb. 12). Ed Sheeran Puts His Training To The Test In “Shape Of You”

Ed Sheeran returned with the romantic visuals for his number one hit record, “Shape Of You” — featuring the beautiful Jennie Pegouskie as the role of his significant other in the Jason Koenig-directed video. The track gave the 25-year-old his first Billboard number one on the singles charts. Within the four-minute video, the pop star channels his inner “Rocky” as he trains for a monumental sumo fight, which he horribly loses in hilarious fashion.
