Is Marshawn Lynch Considering Coming Out Of Retirement?

The Oakland Raiders are considering making a strong push to acquire the retired Marshawn Lynch from the Seattle Seahawks. Lynch, 30, is reportedly still in good shape and has debated making a comeback to the gridiron. Suiting up for his hometown Raiders would be an added incentive to return to the NFL and a dream scenario for Beastmode, according to ESPN’s Adam Caplan.

Marshawn Lynch is in shape. He’s thought about playing. Raiders are interested. But would the #Seahawks actually trade him? We’ll see.

Lynch still has gas left in the tank, and the Raiders have a gaping hole at the running back position with Latavius Murray replacing Adrian Peterson in Minnesota. AP also remains an option for the up and coming Raider backfield. ESPN sources report a Lynch and Oakland reunion “could really happen.”

By the way, #Raiders inquired about #BeastMode last year & a trade nearly happened. Marshawn decided to stay retired. We’ll see this year

Raiders radio announcer Greg Papa hinted at the team bringing in a retired running back on his show Thursday (March 16). “They are talking to a certain running back,” Papa said, according to the San Jose Mercury News. “I’ll have to hold this for tomorrow. He did not even play in the NFL last year.”

2 issues for #Raiders on Marshawn: 1. They don’t want to give up picks. Maybe a cond. 7th. Maybe. 2. They are saving money for Carr/Mack

Compensation is the next hurdle for the two organizations. The Raiders would be hesitant to give Seattle a draft pick for a retired player who is due $9 million next season. Their best option would be to have the Seahawks grant Lynch his release to have him negotiate a new contract with Oakland. The Seahawks signed their Lynch replacement Tuesday (March 14), bringing in former Green Bay Packer, Eddie Lacy on a one year deal.

Come back Beastmode, the NFL isn’t the same without you!
